New 7 Wonders

This article starts the overview of interesting events on our site.

Perhaps you already know that a grandiose show, which introduced a new 7 world wonders, took place in Lisbon on July 2007. They had been chosen in the process of voting through the Internet and cell phones. In general, 90 millions of people all over the world participated in voting .

Site update

Yesterday, at the 13th of August 2007, we made a planed update of the site. Basically, updates applied to the rating system.
Now while adding each new place, photo, satellite or review you get a 0,25points.
Also updates were made to correct a few slight bugs.

Changes

This project started over a year ago as a service for Google Earth placemarks collecting. After spending hours viewing satellites and photos of different places, we rather often had a wish to travel to one of these places and see everything with our own eyes. Living with that idea, we finally decided – it’s time for changes! Now RollNZoom will be travelling itself! Take a look at what we got out of that.

What is it all about...?

Take a walk through the site and you will discover lots of new and interesting functionality. Almost everything in the site has been changed – starting from place home page and upto help pages.
So, we've changed RollNZoom, changed it to travel the world with its help and to share our impressions with other people.

Where the place rating has gone?

We simplified the meaning of rating – now place has no own rating, or in other words its rating is your opinion about it – «Great place» or «Nothing special». It gives an ability to get to know the opinion of community about this place. To increase the convenience of our users, we've added a statistical chart to the place page, which shows the voting results.
You still can leave your comment on the place page, and you can also write a review to precise and expand your thoughts.

My own blog?

Actually, it's not a blog, though... User home page has also significantly changed – now you may see here something that looks like a blog – we call it a Journal, here are listed all action that user has performed – for example when you added a new place or uploaded some photo. All these events are written into the Journal as blog articles. Journal events can also be filtered and viewed by their type (place, photo, comment, satellite, review etc)
Another new feature – user's map. User's map is a map of places where user has left his vote. Here you may see places which user wants to visit or places that he has visited, together with his voted on these places.
